How to play Classic Solitaire
Classic Solitaire is the timeless Klondike card game. Stack cards in descending order with alternating colors, build the four foundations from Ace to King, and clear the tableau to win.
How to play
Understand the layout
Seven tableau columns sit in front of you, the stock and waste pile in the top-left, and four empty foundation slots in the top-right.
Build down, alternating colors
On the tableau, place cards in descending order alternating red and black (e.g. black 7 on red 8).
Move Kings into empty columns
Only a King (or a sequence starting with a King) can be moved into an empty tableau column.
Build up the foundations
Move Aces to the foundations, then build each suit upward from Ace to King.
Draw from the stock
Click the stock to flip cards into the waste pile when you're stuck. Win by moving every card to the foundations.
Tips
- Always flip face-down tableau cards as soon as you can. They unlock new options.
- Don't rush Aces and 2s to the foundation if you still need them to park other cards.
- Empty columns are powerful. Save them for Kings that unlock buried cards.
- Plan two moves ahead before drawing from the stock; some games depend on draw timing.
